Scripting with PHP

PHP is invariably used for web programming tasks (creating dynamic pages, for instance), but what about using it on the command line, as a general purpose admin scripting language? At first glance, I wouldn't have considered it, but there are some interesting reasons for considering PHP as your admin scripting language of choice.
