Build an opaque distributed neural network

An interesting design, complete with C source code, no less...
Outside entities cannot know where the input and output boundaries of your system are. All the nodes are constantly transferring information to one another. Only a person with a "map" of the network, as currently configured, will know which node(s) are currently providing meaningful outputs and what those outputs represent. To everybody else, each node is merely pouring out a stream of random numbers.
