Linux Hardware: Choosing a CD-RW

Hardware help for building that Linux workstation; picking a CD burner.
Let's first give a brief overview of the drives we'll be taking a look at. The first drive in the review is the drive we chose as our CD-RW drive in the single processor system of the year we designed back in January. The PlexWriter 12/10/32S was the last great SCSI CD-RW. The only new drives to come on the market were made by Yamaha and they weren't anywhere near Plextor's quality.
