The installation of Red Hat Linux 8.0 on the Shuttle SB51G was not difficult - similar in complexity to the installation of Windows XP, and it seems to have successfully found all of the Shuttle's hardware. Having installed Red Hat, this article has shown you how to modify the installation to install better drivers for the onboard ALC650 audio and to how to compile and install the NVidia drivers (if you are using an NVidia graphics card in the AGP slot). The article has introduced you to the Ximian Evolution email application and to the GAIM Instant Messenger.
