Rubica is an address book/contact manager and DOSBox is a virtual machine tool for running DOS games.
The DOSBox project is aimed at running DOS games that do not require protected mode. Actually, protected mode is on the "to do" list, but it may be some time before it's up and running. DOSBox emulates a 286/386 realmode CPU, a DOS directory filesystem, and a SoundBlaster card. I'm not sure how well non-gaming applications would run, but you might be able to use older DOS apps with DOSBox as well. For a list of games that run (or are known not to run) go to the DOSBox Ready List.
