Fedora Linux: What is it and where did it come from?

An overview and a few opinions on the new Red Hat-derived Fedora Linux project...
The launch of the Fedora project was unfortunately buried in the negative press surrounding the change in Red Hat's product offerings. In my opinion, the Fedora project is best realized as the next iteration of Red Hat Linux for the general public. Essentially two limbs have grown off of the Red Hat Linux tree, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and The Fedora Project. There will not be a release of Red Hat Linux 10, instead there was the release of Fedora Core 1.
