How to Install Debian on a RAID 1 Device

This short and sweet guide shows the steps necessary to install Debian Linux on a RAID-1 boot device.
Instructions for installing a very clean Debian GNU/Linux system that boots from RAID 1.

The examples assume two identical harddrives, hda and hdc, on which 1 GB is used for swap and everything else is for the single big root filesystem.
