This review mostly covers the part of Gentoo with the intimidating reputation -- the installation.
If there was a list of biggest GNU/Linux cliches, the statement “Gentoo is hard to install” would be ranked among the top. Let me tell you a little secret: Gentoo is easy to install.
As I have mentioned in the introduction, Gentoo does not have an installer. There are many ways to build a Gentoo system, but the very basic decision the user has to make is from what stage she or he will do the installation.
