Autotools Tutorial

The GNU Autotools are the set of tools (autoconf, automake, etc) that create "configure" scripts. These are the scripts that generate Makefiles and "config.h" files to customize source packages for a particular system. This tutorial explains from scratch what the tools are and how they work together, and gets you to a point where the manuals actually make sense.
